Pizza Delivery Halted
by Melissa Bailey | Nov 30, 2007 2:27 pm
Someone called police at 5:10 p.m. Thurs. at 80 Derby Ave. to report suspected drug dealing.
According to city spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga, cops arrived and arrested three men, aged 22, 22 and 23, on gun and narcotics charges. One had 20 bags of crack.
Also according to Mayorga:
A pizza delivery man showed up at 1499 Ella Grasso Blvd. at 9:48 p.m. Thursday. As is a pattern in a recent rash of delivery-person muggings, the call had come in on a cell phone. He brought the food to the porch. A man came out of the door and punched him. The deliverer dropped the pizza and soda and fled, escaping further injury or robbery.
