As a bill making changes to Gov. M. Jodi Rell’s new Charter Oak Health plan was debated, it almost sounded like the Republicans were advocating for universal health care and the Democrats opposed it because it lacked the proper fiscal analysis. Full story here.

Cops Catch Alleged Carjacker

A woman was getting out of her car behind 441 Chapel St. at 11:31 p.m. Saturday when a man came up to her. Here’s what happened, according to police:

He showed a knife and demanded her keys. She was robbed of her pocketbook and 2003 Hyundai car. Cops later found and chased the car on Fair Haven’s Ferry Street. Suspects ditched the car at Ferry and Pine. Cops arrested a man who had the victim’s credit cards in his pants pocket.
