“Bossman” Keeps Driving
by Melissa Bailey | Jun 27, 2008 12:16 pm | Comments (3)
A woman told police she was mugged early Thursday after accepting a ride from a man named “Bossman.” Here’s what she said happened, according to police:
She left her Rowe Street home at 3:15 a.m. to walk to a convenience store for some smokes. Two people in a car outside her house offered her a ride. She didn’t know them, but she accepted. When they passed the store, the driver kept going. He said he had to “drop his friend at home.” He took her to the other side of town, to Scranton and Greenwood Streets in West River. When they got there, the passenger snatched a $20 bill from her hand. Both men dragged her out of the car and left her there.
During the ride, the passenger referred to the driver as “L” or “Bossman,” the victim said.
