An 18-year-old man is in critical condition at the hospital Wednesday night after getting shot several times at 6;36 p.m. at Shepard and Newhall Streets.
So reported police spokesman Officer David Hartman. He asked anyone with information to call detectives at (203) 946‑6304.
Earlier, at 3:56 p.m., gunshots were reported at Winchester Avenue and Hazel Street, Hartman said. An 18-year-old man was taken to the hospital for treatment for a gunshot wound to his arm. He is also in police custody there on a warrant for allegedly carrying a pistol without a permit.
