36-Hour Radiothon Starts Tuesday At 8 AM

Please join us for a live 36-hour radiothon and webathon Tuesday and Wednesday to raise money for New Haven not-for-profits — and to hear how some of them sing for their supper.

The radiothon is occurring as part of the annual Great Give” competition organized by the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.

For the full 36 hours, WNHH radio will visit with members of not-for-profits throughout the region. They’ll come on air and sing a song or recite a poem, then make their pitch and tell us what they’re up to. We’re also hosting an overnight pajama party” as part of the telethon, hosted by Brian Slattery and Babz Rawls-Ivy.

The radiothon will air online here; and on 103.5 FM between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3:59 p.m. on Tuesday and 4 a.m. and 3:59 p.m. on Wednesday.

We will also be live video-streaming the event here on the homepage of the New Haven Independent.

Chabasso Bakery/Atticus Cafe is the grand sponsor for the event.

We borrowed the idea from our pals at the Valley Independent Sentinel, which hosted a webathon last year and is doing so again Tuesday and Wednesday.

In addition to raising money for other not-for-profits with the New Haven radiothon, we’re also asking you to help keep this radio station on the air. WNHH is a not-for-profit grassroots New Haven community radio station. The New Haven Independent and La Voz Hispana launched the station last August. We’re broadcasting original live local programs diving into our communal and poltical and cultural life each day, over the air and on the internet at the New Haven Independent’s website. Please consider making a donation to us now. Here’s the link to make a donation starting Tuesday at 8 a.m. You can also use the form below when it goes live at that time:
