4 Shot In 2 Incidents

Shootings claimed victims on both the east and west sides of town Monday evening.

Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Officer David Hartman:

Three men were shot, two of them critically, in a barrage of gunfire that spanned the approximate distance of a city block” of Quinnipiac Avenue near Eastern Street. The shootings took place around 10 p.m. A 23-year-old man suffered a graze wound to his right hand, a non-life threatening
injury.” A 20-year-old was shot in the abdomen,” a 21-year-old in the thigh and wrist.” The latter two are listed in critical but stable condition.” All three are in the hospital. Police did not have any motives and suspects to report Monday evening.

Nor did police report having a suspect in the other shooting, which occurred around 6 p.m. at Dixwell Avenue and Ivy Street. A 19-year-old man was shot there in his lower back. He was reported conscious and alert” and speaking with officers” at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
