If you’re going to see the Jersey Boys during its upcoming run at the Shubert, don’t be surprised if your usher is also your alderman.
Two thirds of the city’s 30 aldermen have taken Morris Cove Alderman Sal DeCola (pictured) up on his challenge to promote volunteerism. They’re all taking a night during the Sept. 25 — Oct. 7 run of Jersey Boys to serve as volunteer ushers at the Shubert to promote volunteerism citywide. It’s also a food drive to help restock the city’s food pantries.
DeCola will be there opening night. Canned goods you bring will go to the food pantry at Saint Bernadette‘s Church, and other alder-designated pantries during the run of the show.
Great idea, Alderman DeCola. The rest of the city is now finding out what we in Morris Cove have known for a while, that Sal has been active in volunteering for the betterment of our community.
