Arrest Made In 2011 Murder

Nearly a year after “Fast Eddie” was fatally shot in Fair Haven, police tracked down a murder suspect and made an arrest.
Edward Andrew “Fast Eddie” Thompson (pictured) was shot at half past midnight on Oct. 13 of last year at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Lloyd Street in Fair Haven, according to police spokesman Dave Hartman. Thompson was pronounced dead a few hours later.
Police have charged a 33-year-old man with the homicide, Hartman announced Friday afternoon. Detectives spent the past year working on the case, Hartman said.
“Their work paid off,” Hartman said in a press release.
Police plan to release more details at a 5 p.m. press conference Monday.
