The city’s Angel of Peace, relocated from East Rock to the New Haven Green during restoration, got a public bath Friday afternoon. Workers blasted corrosion off the statue with a power washer, said Francis Miller of ConservArt in Hamden.

The crew also used a borescope to peer inside the statue through a tiny hole, Miller said. He didn’t find any more shoes.
