Beans Rosé Wanted More Than Wet

An offer to share some PCP ended up costing a New Haven man his cellphone and some cash.

The friendship-offering-turned-hold-up occurred this past Thursday. Here’s how police spokesman Officer David Hartman described the encounter:

At 7:48 p.m., a 28-year-old New Haven man walked into police headquarters to report he’d been robbed.

He told officers he was near his Church Street South apartment parking lot when he spotted a woman named Kamika sitting in a car with a guy he knows as Beans Rosé (like the wine). When he joined them, he said Rosé asked if he wanted to smoke some Wet.’

The victim said Rosé pulled out a gun instead and robbed him of his Android cell-phone and about $60.

Detectives plan to follow up with the victim at a later date. No description of the suspect or the car was provided.

(‘Wet’ can be used to refer both to marijuana dipped in liquid PCP and to the PCP component on its own, which is also used to coat ordinary cigarettes and other substances.)”
