The police are asking anyone interested in starting a block watch to let them know, so they can help.
In an effort to revive block watches around town, the department has committed “additional resources” in-house to helping block watches, according to a release issued Wednesday. It has also begun sharing more information with block watches, including regular access to the internal department “flash sheet” and “frequently updated crime maps and statistics from the Analysis Unit.”
