Ellison, Through A Bregamos Lens

Rafael Ramos was 17 the first time he picked up Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man

Ramos, who would later become Bregamos Community Theater’s founder, realized he’d come across one of the most important African-American novels of the 20th century,” with resonance today as profound as when the book was published in 1952.

He committed the prologue to heart. On WNHH radio, he recited that prologue, then discussed with Lucy Gellman why Ellison’s masterpiece permanently affected his thinking, as it did for so many other readers as well.
