A man robbed a Yale staff member walking along on the Farmington Canal trail line.
The robbery occurred about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to a mass email message to Yalies from university Police Chief Ronnell Higgins.
The staffer, also male, was alone when the muggers grabbed his messenger bag. The bag had a laptop in it.
“The victim was able to press the Blue Emergency Phone on the Canal line to call for help,” Higgins wrote. “Police responded, and recovered the victim’s property. No weapons were displayed, and minor injuries were reported. The Yale Police are investigating.”
I hate to see anyone get mugged, but ... That trail is pitch-black once the day ends, and that happens at 4:30pm at this time of year.
