The annual revived “Unity in the Community” festival filled Goffe Street Park on Sunday with musical performances, a dance contest, a bounce house for the kids, fresh food, and good vibes.
The theme was “Old School in the Park.” Some of the meals were served free. Vendors also offered free blood pressure screening.
Apostle Eugene Brunson of Wayfaring Ministries offered words of reflection, and the Rashaan Langley Project pumped out the live performance along with Ms. Nadiyah Bolling & the Ice the Beef Group.
It was, as Mayor Toni Harp told the crowd, a great way to chill as the summer season winds down.
WOW!! Are those the only statements the STAFF writer could come up with to secribe this WONDERFUL Community Event? This was a great event and will be even greater in the future. It was very well organized and exuded the Spirit of the meaning of "community". I would like to thank the vendors, and organizers for a job well done... thank you WYBC and BIG DEX
