Detective Heads North

Angela Augustine-Daye, a New Haven detective with 20 years on the force, is heading up to Massachusetts to work for another veteran city cop who moved north.

Augustine-Daye (pictured) has been appointed lieutenant in command of administration/investigations for the Millbury, Mass., police department.

Millbury Chief Kenny Howell announced the appointment Monday evening. You may remember Howell: At this time last year he beat out four other candidates to take the Millbury job after working 21 years in New Haven, most recently as top cop in the Newhallville and East Rock neighborhoods.

Augustine-Daye, the mother of two adult daughters, grew up in New Haven. She served eight years in New Haven’s patrol division, then 12 in the detective division. She took the lead on homicide, assault, and financial-crime investigations.
