A 34-year-old man died a block from his home on the East Shore early Sunday after crashing into a tree.
The man, Edwin Trelles Calle, was driving, alone, southbound on Townsend Avenue shortly before 4:46 a.m. when he hit one tree, and then a second, according to police spokesman Officer David Hartman. It may take weeks to determine what caused the crash, Hartman reported. Calle was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:20 a.m.
