Ecstasy Bust At Toad’s

Police charged three men inside Toad’s Place Thursday night with selling Ecstasy at a dub-step” night at the storied downtown nightclub.

Officer Dave Hartman, a police spokesman, said the three were arrested at a nightclub rave.”

An 18-year-old from Wallingford was charged with selling the drug and conspiracy to sell it, Hartman said. A Fairfield man, 26, was charged with possession with intent to sell, and selling Ecstasy, as was a 21-year-old from East Haven. He also was charged with conspiracy, Hartman said.

Toad’s has been cited multiple times for serving underage customers, and the club was shuttered for five days last summer to settle charges that it had served booze to minors. The club was also the scene of a double shooting in March 2011 during a local hip-hop showcase.

Three Judges Brawl
Police broke up a fight at the Three Judges Motor Lodge-Inn on Whalley Avenue about 5:30 p.m Thursday, arriving to find three men and a woman in a heated argument. A Cheshire man told police he’d been out drinking with a woman, when she complained about her boyfriend’s behavior. So, the man told police, he decided to confront the boyfriend; the melee ensued. The Cheshire man, who’s 28, was charged with assault and burglary, both in the third degree, and first-degree trespass.

Son Charged With Strangling Dad
Earlier in the day, police arrested a 24-year-old on second-degree strangulation and third-degree assault charges at his parents’ home in the Annex. The man’s father had called the cops around 3:30 p.m. because he said his son was no longer allowed at his home and had punched and strangled him and refused to leave.

Man Curses, Pees At Subway
A 44-year-old man was also arrested for trespassing, breach of peace, disorderly conduct and interfering with police officers. Around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the Subway on Chapel Street, where there were complaints that the man was yelling obscenities at people in the restaurant. The Subway manager told police the man had also exposed himself and urinated on the door and wall. Cops located the man on a nearby city bus.
