The Henry C. Lee Institute Monday gave New Haven Police Chief Dean Esserman its annual Law Enforcement Award.
“I am proud to receive this award as a Connecticut Police Chief and equally proud to have the honor of wearing New Haven’s uniform,” Esserman (pictured at a different Monday event, an international law symposium) stated in a press release.
The award is named after the late Arnold Markle, the longtime top prosecutor in New Haven’s state courts.
The institute gave its Leadership Award to Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.
