Fun City Bandits’ Trail Leads To Gun

Police looking for the men who robbed Fun City Two wound up with a suspect in handcuffs and an illegal gun.
Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Officer Dave Hartman:
After Fun City Two, a store at 290 Dixwell Ave., was robbed by two armed men on Nov. 15, police “developed strong leads” and secured a search and seizure warrant for an apartment on Chambers Street.
Meanwhile, on Dec. 1, police responding to a domestic dispute complaint on Long Wharf Drive spoke with a woman who told them her boyfriend—who lives at the Chambers Street apartment—had a gun and threatened to shoot her. Police secured an arrest warrant for the boyfriend, for criminal possession of a firearm and threatening.
On Tuesday, detectives and federal agents executed both warrants at the apartment on Chambers Street. Cops found no evidence of the robbery, but they caught the 30-year-old boyfriend as he tried to flee out the back door. Police found a .22-caliber revolver in a bedroom he shares with another man. Both men were charged with criminal possession of a firearm.
