Gejdenson v. Trump

In an appearance this week on Fox News’ Bill O’ Reilly Show, Donald Trump declared the 14th Amendment, which grants citizenship to those born or naturalized in the U.S., unconstitutional.

That doesn’t fly with former U.S. Rep. Sam Gejdenson. He had a lot to say about it Thursday on WNHH’s Sam Gejdenson Show.”

Watch what Trump had to say un the above video.

With help from the late-night shows and Al-Jazeera news, one of the important constitutional issues is coming forward — the 14th Amendment.,” Gejdenson noted on Thursday’s WNHH program.

The debate yesterday between Donald Trump and Bill O’ Reilly of all people saying that people who are here in an undocumented fashion — children who are born here, they’re American citizens — Donald Trump said, That’s not true.’ Bill O’Reilly said No, it’s in the Constitution.’

Who knew we’d be joining Bill O’ Reilly on this issue?”

Gejdenson noted that the state of Texas has now taken away paperwork that has traditionally been accepted to establish citizenship for people born in the United States.”

Gejdenson accused such Republican-driven anti-immigration talk and actions as hypocritical.

The Republicans who are mostly against people who are here in an undocumented fashion from getting citizenship for their children if they’re born here are big proponents of the wet foot, dry foot’ exception for Cubans. That was Cubans who were fleeing Cuba, even today. If they end up with feet on dry land, they get to stay in the United States.”

Gejdenson was just getting started. His scheduled guest didn’t show up until the show was over (Gejdenson had given him the wrong time), so Gejdenson flew solo — and found his voice.
