The summer’s concerts on the Green offer the temptation of flavorful nostalgia trips for both Baby Boomers and Gen-Xers.
The two-concert lineup, released last week, includes Motown sensation The Temptations, and the groundbreaking ‘90s hip-hop duo Salt-n-Pepa.
Click the play arrow to revisit Salt-n-Pepa’s seminal 1993 hit, “Shoop.” Salt-n-Pepa was one of the first all-female rap groups to break into the male-dominated world of hip-hop. You might remember their other hits: “Push It,” “Whatta Man,” and “Let’s Talk About Sex.”
The Temptations’ hits include “My Girl,” “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” and “Get Ready.” The Green concert will be performed by The Temptations Review Featuring Dennis Edwards, the first Temptation to join the group after its mid-‘60s “Classic Five” heyday.
The Temptations Review Featuring Dennis Edwards will perform on Saturday on the Green. The show will start with an opening act at 6 p.m.
Salt-n-Pepa will perform on July 26, after an opening act at 6 p.m.
