A cop working a Westville traffic checkpoint spotted a getaway car from a bank robbery, and made the collar.
Albert McFadden is usually assigned to the schools. Because of Winter Storm Nemo, which has closed the schools, McFadden was monitoring traffic on Whalley Avenue near Fitch.
He heard a report on the police radio that a man had robbed Citizens Bank in Woodbridge. The report included a description of the getaway car and the fact that a woman was driving it.
McFadden saw the car, pulled it over at a gas station. He “took the two into custody without incident,” according to police spokesman Officer David Hartman, and witnesses from the bank identified them.
Extra cops on the street means more collars? Hmmm.
Imagine what we could do if the city wasn't in a financial mess.
