Half Knish Cheers On Mets

Oct. 15, 2015 — the bottom of the ninth in the Mets vs. Dodgers game that was going to decide if they would go on to the World Series to battle the Chicago Cubs. Joel Rudikoff was on his couch, eyes glued to the screen in what was soon-to-be wonderment. His young son, Benjamin, was fast asleep in his bed. There was only one thing to do: wake him up, and update him on the state of the nation’s — or at least, Rudikoff’s — favorite sport.

No matter that little Ben had no memory of this, or the team’s win, the next morning. It felt, to both him and his father, like a historic moment.

Declaring the Mets’ win cause for a ninth night of Hanukkah, Rudikoff kicked off Friday’s Cannoli/Knish Sports Hour” with Vincent J. Mauro, Jr. and Adam Joseph, with a celebration of the team, and suite of predictions for the World Series.
