Fair Haven will recognize its new top cop: He’s on his second tour of duty.
The cop, Sgt. Herb Johnson, is the neighborhood’s new district manager. He replaces Sgt. Anthony Zona, who retired to take a police job at the Foxwoods Casino.
Johnson previously worked as Fair Haven’s top cop before heading the department’s intelligence unit and then supervising the overnight patrol shift. He was a popular figure when he ran the Fair Haven district; click here to read about some of the work he did with the community.
“Fair Haven loved him when he was there. Why not send him back?” Assistant Chief Luiz Casanova said Wednesday in announcing the appointment.
Welcome back Srg. Herb! yes you already know many of us around here.
But so sad about srg. Zona I rely like him but if is for his own good, all the best for you Mr. Zona you made a big difference in Fair Have and definitely you will miss. Good wishes and luck to you and thank you for all your help.
Good move Casanova!!
