Two New Naven community powerhouses are joining one of New Haven’s powerhouse not-for-profit boards, at the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven (CFGNH).
The new board members are Quinnipiac University political science professor Khalilah Brown-Dean (left in photo), a much-quoted and read expert “on the political dynamics surrounding the criminal justice system”; and Carlton Highsmith, founder of Specialized Packaging Group, the state’s largest minority-owned firm; and more recently a founder of the Connecticut Center for Arts & Technology (ConnCAT).
They’ll now help decided how to distribute some $21 million in annual grants from a foundation with a $430 million endowment. Click here for a full release on their appointments.
