So Many B’s!

AIDS Project New Haven (APNH) Executive Director Chris Cole has trouble keeping four words — Blues, Barbeque, Bourbon, & Beer — in order. He jokes that it has to do with the number of things on his plate every day. But when they are paired with a catchy utterance he has learned by heart — Caring Cuisine — they spring to life, full of potential and just waiting to be explored.

That’s because together, the two phrases form the foundation of the APNH’s major fundraiser this year, to be held Saturday evening at the New Haven Country Club.

Thursday afternoon, Cole brought a preview of the event to the WNHH studio, appearing as a guest on Alisa Bowens’ weekly Culture Cocktail.”

The event, Cole explained, holds a lot to be excited about. Building on an annual Oktoberfest tradition, the organization decided to relax the fundraiser a little further this year, adding The Cobalt Rhythm Kings, beer tasting, bourbon tasting, silent auction and wine grab bag to its list of entertainment. His excitement dovetailed with the overall tenor of the episode, which also included cultural must do’s” from Ginny Kozlowski, CEO of the Economic Development Corporation of New Haven and REX Development and Sarah Washburn, tourism sales manager at Visit New Haven (pictured).
