Starting a week from Wednesday you can put Christmas trees out on the curb for city pick-up.

Here’s the drill, according to a mayoral press release:

“The New Haven Department of public Works will begin holiday tree collection on Wednesday January 2, 2013 and will continue throughout the month of January.  All decorations and plastic covers must be removed.  If a tree becomes frozen to the ground it will then fall upon the responsibility of the homeowner to remove the tree.

“Any questions or comments please contact the Citizen Response Unit at DPW at 203-946-7700.”
