Homicide Streak Broken

Police found a young man fatally shot in the head Saturday morning.

They found him slumped over the wheel of an SUV on County Street near Munson.

They don’t know what time he was shot.

If confirmed, it is the city’s first homicide of 2012.

This was not a random shooting, according to police spokesman Officer David Hartman: the dead man, who’s in his teens or early 20s, was the intended target.”

Police did not receive calls overnight about gunshots, Hartman said. They believe the shooting occurred after 3 a.m.
