Police Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man after their 18-month-old boy swallowed a PCP-laced cigarette.
The boy, unconscious, was transported from a West Rock home to Yale-New Haven Hospital’s pediatric emergency department after his mom called 911 shortly before 1 p.m. when she smelled PCP on his breath, according to police spokesman Officer David Hartman. Hartman said the parents had left the “drugged cigarette,” which the father admitted belonged to him, within reach of the baby.
Police charted the parents with risk of injury to a minor, and the father with narcotics possession as well.
