1 … 2 … You’re Beautiful!”

Vanya Orozo took her daughter Lisette to the International Festival of Arts & Ideas on the Green Friday to enjoy music, see the sights — and get her picture taken.

Lisette, a 6‑year-old who attends the Strong School, got to keep a copy of the picture. The state police will, too, along with other information about Lisette, to help find her in the chance she ever goes missing.

Business has been steady at the picture-taking booth. The New Haven police department’s Missing Persons Unit set it up to prepare ID kits for parents and to get essential information (like eye color and height and weight) in the state’s Amber Alert database for potential missing-persons cases. The cops ran the booth in conjunction with the help of the Rotary Club and handed out child-protection tips prepared by the FBI. Some 60 kids had kits prepared on Thursday, according to New Haven Sgt. Elisa Tuozzoli, who runs the Missing Persons Unit. (She’s pictured with Detective Jessie Agosto, who was also working the booth.) The crew was back out Friday and will return next Thursday and Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Step up,” Detective Manmeet Colon told Lisette, guiding her onto a scale. Excellent!”

Detective Agosto and Rotary volunteer John Karavas had a teddy bear on hand to cheer up the kids as he took their pictures. Just a little smile,” Karavas told Lisette. One … two …

”… You’re beautiful!”
