Halloween, LEAP-Style!

The following was submitted by LEAP.

If you are looking for a fun and safe way to celebrate Halloween with your kids, LEAP has the perfect answer! Join LEAP and our neighbors on Lyon and William Streets for the organization’s annual Community Halloween Festival for children. The Festival will be held Friday, Oct. 28, at LEAP’s community center at 31 Jefferson Street in New Haven from 4:30 to 7:30 pm.

Every October LEAP opens its doors to the public, inviting children, families and community members to come share in a range of Halloween activities that are appropriate for children of all ages. Whether kids are in LEAP or not, they are welcome to participate. There will be fortune telling, face and pumpkin painting, storytelling, and walking through LEAP’s haunted house … if you dare! There will also be a lot of candy for kids to share.

That same night, LEAP is once again partnering with our neighbors on Lyon Street and William Street to welcome trick-or-treaters that come knocking. Those houses that are participating in LEAP’s Halloween Festival will have LEAP Halloween signs on their doors. Please consider donating a bag of candy to help out our neighbors who have had hundreds of trick-or-treaters the last few years.

This year, LEAP has invited the New Haven Fire Department and Police Department so kids will be able to explore their fire trucks and police cars. For more information, contact Yakeita Robinson at (203) 773‑0770. If you want to donate candy for trick-or-treaters, please bring it to the LEAP community center at 31 Jefferson Street.
