A man hanged himself from a bridge above a Sargent Drive parking lot, police reported.
The man was discovered around 1:30 p.m., according to police spokesman Officer David Hartman.
The body of the man — an unidentified adult — was hanging from a rope to the Church Street South bridge connecting Sargent Drive with Union Avenue, Hartman said. The body was over a parking lot behind a Sargent Drive medical office building.
“We’re treating this as a probable suicide,” Hartman said, but “everything with a death of this nature needs to be investigated.”
The fire department responded first. Paramedics established that the man was dead, Hartman said.
The police department’s Bureau of Identification proceeded to do an investigation. The man’s body was to be removed once the investigators completed collecting evidence, Hartman said.
