Man Killed Near Humphrey’s

After police working at Humphrey’s Bar heard a gunshot, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his chest. He soon died of his injury, becoming the city’s 12th homicide victim of the year.

Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery:

At 2:17 a.m. on Saturday, officers working at Humphrey’s Bar and Restaurant on Humphrey street heard a gunshot. Moments later, they found a 25-year-old man who had been shot in the chest. He was in a parked SUV across the street from the bar. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact the Major Crime Unit at 203 – 946-6304 or the department’s anonymous tip line at 203 – 946-6296.
