Mayor Hosts Night Out at Columbus School

I am pleased to hear that the 'Mayor's Night Out' is starting up again. This is a great opportunity for local residents to discuss local issues with department heads.

It was a great opportunity for the community. I would like to thank the City officials and our Mayor who were willing to answer questions and to help with the problem solving. However, I was stunt by the way our Alderman reacted when an issue was presented to him for follow up. I spent more time convincing him that my street belongs to his ward than anything else. With his non caring attitude I came out of that meeting very upset. These elected people should have a better knowledge about their ward and their jobs. I know it's not all of them, this is by far my first negative experience with an alderman. Then his next question to me was if I voted because according to him he only visits the people who votes, how dissapointing! We are all citizens and tax payers and we deserve respect! Ward 14
