For the second straight year, Dixwell neighbors and friends of the late Mae Ola Riddick are keeping her memory alive by running a Thanksgiving food giveaway.

The Mae Ola Riddick (MOR) Foundation, in conjunction with the Kingdom International Economic Development Corporation (KIED), is asking people to donate turkeys, fresh vegetables, and non-perishable food items for distribution next week to needy families.

Drop off donations at the Dixwell police substation (26 Charles St.). Or call 203 – 668-8087 to sign up to donate food and/or volunteer.

Mae Ola’s legacy is about helping the less fortunate, building one’s self-confience, and lending a helping hand for those who found themselves in need,” said KIEDC’s Metashar Bankhead Dillon.
