Not quite the Pantheon, or the Guggenheim spiral, but still a remarkable opening into space hidden alongside the Temple Street Plaza. One has to stand in the dirt for a view through this observatory, evoking an insight from Oscar Wilde that “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.”

The Granberry oculus is not like James Turrell's work either, but it is very wonderful to see the sky captured in Granberry's parking garage.
