I'd say endorsing any political party is more akin to putting the car in neutral. Instead of driving yourself, you have effectively become an empty trailer following someone else's lead.

There's no fundamental difference between R and D as this group and other unions would argue. Both parties endorse the current oligarchy of corporations and banks, and the capitalist method, despite all it's ugly externalities. And while they attempt to diminish some of the negative externalities, they simultaneously endorse the entire system which is inherently flawed. Neither party in this country offers an alternative to this broken system. And, for unions, of all things, to overlook this fundamental point, is sad. These paid union organizers are really not doing their jobs if they expect working people to give a crap about our current political/economic structure. Workers deserve better from people who are paid to help them.

A long time ago, unions were the engine of economic/social criticism, and they still are at the hyper-local level, but outside of their places of work they have become positively status quo.

How sad it is to see "labor activists" groveling to capitalists.

Lets get a little input for Threefifths here...
