Police caught up with a 28-year-old man suspected of a commercial robbery at 410 Ferry St. Wednesday morning. That morning, a man with a gun had robbed the clerk and fled in a blue caravan. Officers on the evening shift spotted a van of that description at 8:50 p.m. The operator fled the van. Officers chased him through the yards of Fair Haven’s Wolcott Street. They found him hiding under a Jeep. They found a gun back in his van, and arrested him.

Read on for more crime details, according to police spokeswoman Bonnie Posick.

At 446 Elm St. Wednesday evening, a resident went outside to change a lightbulb, and was mugged at gunpoint.

And a woman was working the night shift at the Hess gas station at 1159 Whalley Ave. at 1:30 a.m. Thursday when she was approached by two men with knives. She ran towards her booth, but could not get the key out of the door in time. Fearing for her life, she fled. The men stole items from the convenience booth and escaped.
