Tyrese Jones, a 26-year-old New Haven man, died at Yale-New Haven Hospital after getting shot earlier Friday night in the Kensington Street area.
A second man was injured in the shooting, too, but survived, according to police spokesman Officer David Hartman. The man remains in stable condition at the hospital.
Police recovered a gun at the scene and received an initial limited description of a shooter who fled the scene. Detectives interviewed witnesses at the scene; the investigation continues.
