patricia%20sullivan%20and%20catherine.jpgCatherine Sullivan-DeCarlo, who was Mayor John DeStefano’s press spokeswoman for his first two terms in office then spent a decade promoting good news about New Haven schools, was feted Wednesday night at a retirement party. (She’s shown on the right in photo with her sister, Patricia Sullivan, who came down from Boston to celebrate.)

pierrette%20and%20patty%20lawlor.jpgFormer City Hall staffer Pierrette Silverman joined longtime guardian of the mayoral wing of City Hall, Patricia Lawlor, at the festivities.

rose%20marie.jpg Sullivan-DeCarlo’s time at City Hall overlapped with DeStefano’s scheduler, Rosemarie Lemley, who’s still keeping track of the mayor. (Read more about Sullivan-DeCarlo’s city career here.)

school%20building%20woman.jpgSchools rebuilding chief Sue Weisselberg, who was checking people in at the door of Sage’s, where the party was held, lamented Sullivan-Decarlo’s departure and wondered who could possibly fill her shoes. She wished her well in her new job as vice president of admissions for Chapel Haven, a residential and independent living program for adults with cognitive disabilities in Westville. She’ll also be teaching journalism at Southern Connecticut State University and doing some consulting for Dwight Hall, Yale’s undergraduate public service and advocacy organization.
