A 17-year-old was shot in the hand in an apparent drive-by shooting in the Hill Thursday afternoon, police said. The teen was walking on West Street at 1 p.m. when someone in a white Honda Accord fired several bullets at him. The Honda crashed into a parked vehicle and fled the scene.

The People’s Laundromat at 83 Lombard St., owned by prominent Fair Haven developer Angelo Reyes, caught fire Thursday at 8:20 p.m. No one was injured.

Two brothers-in-law were slashed by a box-cutter during a fight at Sherman and Gilbert Avenues in the West River neighborhood Thursday at 5:54 p.m. Both were arrested and suffered minor injuries.

And a victim was robbed at gunpoint at 9:30 p.m. Thursday near 20 Lodge St. in West Rock. The victim was robbed of a backpack, which contained a Glock handgun and a cellphone, police said.

Hey I’m sorry to hear about your laundromat, it’s going to be a big void in on the lower end of Lombard St. I hope you’ll be able to recoup, lot’s of luck.
