Cops made three arrests in violent incidents this week, reports city spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga:
Teen Shooting Suspect Caught
Police Thursday arrested an 18-year-old man they believe is responsible for the January 3, 2008 shooting assault of a 17-year-old female victim in the area of Clinton Ave at Pine St. He was arrested on first-degree assault and illegal weapon charges, and was being held at the Union Avenue Detention Center in lieu of $500,000 court set bond.
Walgreens Robbery
At about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, cops responded to a report of an attempted robbery at Walgreens Pharmacy at 88 York St. They chased a man and arrested him on robbery, larceny, breach of peace and threatening charges.
Drug Suspect Rams Van
And cops seized drugs, and made an arrest, at 80 Chamberlin St. Tuesday evening.
The narcotics task force also seized 14.6 grams of crack cocaine from a vehicle parked outside the home. When cops came up to the car, the driver, a man from 91 Mechanic St., refused to unlock the door and put the car in park.
Instead, the suspect put the car in reverse and rammed the narcotics squad mini-van. He was arrested on a litany of charges, including drug possession and criminal attempt to assault a police officer.
In other news, also according to Mayorga: Thursday, a cop responded to a report of a suspicious person at 48 Redfield St. The cop found a 34-year-old man there. The man fled, was chased and arrested. Found in the area was a revolver.
