Your host Allan Appel and regular co-pilot Jason Bischoff-Wurstle don their helmets to protect us from the extreme vitriol, nastiness, and downright libelous, sexually insulting invective that characterized the 1828 election between staid incumbent John Quincy Adams and that new breed of politician, upstart Tennessean Andrew Jackson. Or, as he was referred to, the first president to hail from a state not named Virginia or Massachusetts.
