Augusta Lewis Troup School Principal Richard Kaliszewski has died, school officials said Monday.
The New Haven school district announced the death in a press release. Kaliszewski, 59, had been with the school district for 37 years, the release said. He was Troup’s principal for 23 years.
“On behalf of the New Haven schools, I extend my deepest condolences to Richard’s family and friends,” schools Superintendent Reggie Mayo said in a statement. “The New Haven school community is deeply saddened by the loss of Richard, one of our best and most beloved principals.
“Richard was a dedicated educator who cared deeply about students and staff. He will be remembered for the many lives he touched. I and all who knew Richard will miss him.”
No other information was immediately available.
