The “Good News” in the name “Good News Garage” is that working people can get to their jobs. Started in Vermont, the program e takes donated cars and turns them over to people struggling to make ends meet and find transportation to work. The New England-wide program, which distributes cars in the New Haven area with the support of Empower New Haven, just delivered its 400th car, a 1994 Saturn, to a mom of three named Luz Martinez who needed reliable wheels to make it to her post as a dog groomer.
