In an exultant sign of spring, a crown of blossoms has again burst forth all over Branford.
The burst of pink and white buds is an annual event, one marking the arrival of spring, a word we have waited for over a long, difficult winter.
Depending on the weather, the Cherry Trees bloom for perhaps ten days to two weeks before falling to the ground. The process has already started in some places.
Our photographer Mary Johnson went to her favorite places to welcome back her favorite flowers and trees. It’s become a tradition for her. Here she is in Stony Creek.
The heart of town is always lovely this time of year. Here is Town Hall.
Across the way from Town Hall, the pear trees greeting spring with great joy.
Not far away at the Blackstone Memorial Library, spring sings. .
Along Harbor Street, a special fence with strong blooms was an eye-catcher.
Here’s a close-up.
Eventually Harbor Street leads to Branford Point Park.
Here’s another view.
Sometimes it is so foggy the Branford River disappears from view and the daffodils shine.
Many houses throughout the town have front lawn trees to be proud of.
And beds of tulips.
And sometimes daffodils find themselves enveloped in a symbol, like this batch in Stony Creek..
