Jazz on the Green Series

Stop by the town Green tonight to see jazz musician Jay Rowe (pictured above) show off his piano mastery. Rowe is a Milford-raised artist who enjoys smooth jazz. Since he started pursuing jazz as a profession, Rowe has released five C.D.s. On Thursday, he will perform as one of the final installments in the 2014 Jazz on the Green Series. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, August 8

The Reluctant Dragon

The Shoreline Arts Association teams up with Shakesperience Productions to perform The Reluctant Dragon. The show starts at 10 a.m. at the Blackstone Memorial Library on 758 Main St. It is part of the 2014 Shakespeare on the Shoreline program that also includes five performances of King Lear on the Guilford Green from August 6 – 10.

Saturday, August 9

Soccer Team Fundraiser

Come support the Branford High School soccer teams as they fund raise on Saturday. The boys and girls soccer teams will be selling new mattresses to raise money for team expenses. This is their 1st annual mattress fundraising event; delivery is available. Displays will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the high school. Library Lecture

Learn the tricks of the trade at Art and Science of Great Coffee,” a presentation by Willoughby’s Coffee & Tea. The event starts at 11 a.m. at the Blackstone Memorial Library.

HOME Jazz Series
At 8 p.m., bassist Mo Pleasure will take the stage at HOME restaurant at 1114 Main Street. Pleasure is from nearby Guilford and attended UCONN. Head to Guilford where the town Green will host the ninth annual Shoreline Jewish Festival from noon to 5 p.m. Great jazz, great food and and lots of fun. Sponsored by Chabad of the Shoreline. Admission free.
