Churches on the Green Tour

File Photo

The Branford Arts & Cultural Alliance (BACA) hosts a tour of the three historic churches on the Branford Green. The Tour, led by Branford architect Anthony Terry, gets underway at The Academy on the Green at 2 p.m.

The churches, The Trinity Episcopal, The First Congregational and The First Baptist are deeply rooted in the town’s history. Each has its own unique story to tell. The Alliance’s interest in the churches is not as much historical as it is architectural, since each church building represents a very different style of classic church form. Reverends Bill Keane, John David Heeckt and Sharon K. Gracen will be present in their respective churches to offer additional insight into the unique qualities of each structure, from ancient paneling to Tiffany windows. For reservations e‑mail Richard Blacher at [email protected]
