Do You Know This Man?

Branford Police Department

Do you know this man?

If you do, Branford detectives are asking you to help identify him because, they say, he was engaged in a bank robbery at about noon yesterday.

The robbery took place at the TD bank, located at 1003 West Main St., near Alps Road.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 30 to 40 years old. He is believed to be between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall. He has either short hair or is balding. He wore a baseball cap (green front with light colored mesh on rear), a short-sleeved, grey-colored T‑shirt and blue cargo styled shorts with sneakers and white socks. He wore nothing to disguise his face, Capt. Geoff Morgan said.

The police confirmed that the robber displayed no weapon, but the robber implied to a bank teller that he had a gun. The police did not disclose the amount of money taken. No injuries were reported.

After exiting the bank, the suspect left the area on foot, heading westbound and ran through a line of tall shrubbery to adjacent properties. He may well have had a car waiting there to pick him up, police said.

K‑9 Officers from Connecticut State Police, North Branford and East Haven police assisted Branford officers in attempting to locate the suspect but were not successful.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Branford Police Department at 203 – 481-4241 or contact the Branford Crime Tip Line at 203 – 315-3909.
