There has never been a more urgent moment for professional journalism in this nation.

This holiday giving season, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to keep real news thriving. We hope you make your gift to the Eagle before the end of the year.

Please send your Branford Eagle contribution to: Online Journalism Project, P.O Box 2067, Short Beach Station, Branford, CT 06405. Checks should be made out to the Online Journalism Project.

The Online Journalism Project is a 501(c)3 organization that publishes the New Haven Independent, the Valley Independent Sentinel, and the Branford Eagle. It also oversees a radio station, WNHH – 103.5 FM where our Legal Eagle airs Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Our readers tell us they want the kind of professional coverage that they have come to expect and rely upon.

Our contributing and award-winning reporters, Sally E. Bahner and Diana Stricker, have decades of professional journalism experience. Our award-winning photographers, Mary Johnson and Bill O’Brien provide extraordinary images of our area, including sports. Sally is the former editor of the Branford Review.

In 2016, The Branford Eagle won 15 awards in a variety of news and photo categories at the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) annual excellence awards contest. Our editor, Marcia Chambers, also won three awards for her Legal Eagle radio show. The awards went to radio shows featuring Bill Clendenen, former president of the Connecticut Bar Association; Laura Burban, director of the Cosgrove Animal Shelter; and Willie Dow, a leading criminal defense attorney in the state.

Thank you, Branford, for your ongoing support – and thank you for reading! Keep the Eagle soaring!
